JELL-O Unveils First-ever Plant-based Chocolate Pudding

For more than 125 years, JELL-O has made life’s moments sweeter through its delightfully delicious offerings. Today, the pudding category leader boldly steps into the plant-based space with new JELL-O Oat Milk Chocolate Pudding. Rolling out to retailers nationwide, this new treat delivers the signature creamy texture and rich chocolate taste JELL-O fans know and love – now in a lactose-free and vegan format. This monumental moment marks the first time Kraft Heinz has both entered the plant-based desserts category and launched an oat milk-based product.

Milk is one of the most common food allergies among kids in the U.S., affecting nearly two million kids each year, and more than 30 percent of Americans suffer from lactose intolerance.1,2 As families look for dessert offerings that fit evolving dietary needs, the multi-billion dollar plant-based desserts category is seeing double digit growth.3 Yet, while pudding is one of the most popular desserts in the U.S., and four in five parents have expressed an interest in dairy alternative versions, current market offerings are limited and consistently fall short on taste and texture.4 As the category leader and first mainstream brand to enter the space, JELL-O aims to close the gap for pudding lovers everywhere.

“JELL-O has always set the standard for creamy and great-tasting desserts that families across the country can enjoy,” said Lauren Gumbiner, Associate Director of Marketing Desserts at The Kraft Heinz Company. “As our fans’ diets and preferences change, we’re evolving our portfolio alongside them. Our chocolate pudding is a timeless classic, and now, thanks to our lactose-free and vegan oat milk version, we’re excited to give more families the opportunity to enjoy it.”

JELL-O selected oat milk, the fastest growing dairy alternative milk, for its first venture in the plant-based space.5 With its creamy consistency and mild flavor, the brand is able to recreate its signature taste and texture in a plant-based, lactose-free, gluten-free and vegan format. Further, the brand is starting with a chocolate flavor in homage to the first-ever pudding flavor JELL-O released back in the 1930s.

This launch marks not only a major milestone for JELL-O, but also for Kraft Heinz, representing the company’s first-ever plant-based dessert and oat milk-based offering. The innovation underscores the company’s commitment to meet evolving consumer needs across its portfolio, striving to bring plant-based foods to the masses without sacrificing the delicious experiences for which its brands are known.

JELL-O Oat Milk Chocolate Pudding is now available in convenient 4-packs at major retailers nationwide.
