Del Monte Foods, which operates in the packed food segment, announced the appointment of Abhinav Kapoor as its Chief Executive Officer with immediate effect.
He will lead the Del Monte Foods senior leadership team and steer the long-term strategy for the business, according to a statement by the company, which is a JV between Bharti Enterprises and Del Monte Pacific.
Kapoor has over two decades of experience in sales and distribution in the FMCG/Consumer businesses sector and previously, served as Vice President of Sales at luggage and travel accessories maker VIP Industries.
His career also includes leading the Foods & Snacks Division at Cavinkare, and holding senior positions at Britannia Industries, Mondelez, and Marico.
Harjeet Kohli, Joint Managing Director of Bharti Enterprises, expressed confidence in Kapoor’s appointment: “We believe Abhinav will successfully scale up our operations in India, in both the B2B and B2C sectors, building on strong organic growth across categories. His extensive experience in sales and distribution within the FMCG sector positions him to drive transformational initiatives and enhance our allied product portfolios”.
In his new role, Kapoor aims to elevate the Del Monte brand by consolidating the product portfolio and optimizing the distribution network, ensuring seamless delivery of high-quality products to customers. His leadership is expected to drive sustainable growth and profitability for Del Monte Foods.
Del Monte Foods, a joint venture between Bharti Enterprises and Del Monte Pacific Ltd, continues to focus on expanding its market presence and delivering superior food products in India.
